No. 20 Rifle Breaks Numerous Records; Falls Just Short of Upset at No. 4 Kentucky
University of North Georgia October 10, 2016LEXINGTON, Ky. – A total of 11 records fell Saturday morning in the No. 20 University of North Georgia’s rifle meet at Kentucky, including four new school records, as UNG came up just short of an upset of the fourth-ranked Wildcats with an aggregate score of 4607 to UK’s 4627.
UNG set new school records in total smallbore, air rifle, and aggregate along with sophomore Dakota Spivey breaking the school records for an individual in air rifle and aggregate.
SMALLBORE
Spivey led the way for the Nighthawks equaling his personal record 572, with Ruthanne Conner just behind him with a 570.Jared Rice set a person best at 569 and Lucas Gilliland snagged his PR in smallbore at 552.
AIR RIFLE
The Dahlonega native continued his incredible start to the 2016-17 with a new school record 592 in air rifle. Conner followed with a 583, with Rice (582), Gilliland (578), and Tobin Sanctuary (576) right behind her all setting new personal records.
