UNG women’s golf takes runner-up at LeeAnn Noble Memorial

According to a press release from the University of North Georgia Athletics Department, Nighthawk junior, Megan Sabol, finished in third place individually, as the UNG women’s golf team used a final-round score of 300 to jump from a tie for seventh to second place in the final round of the LeeAnn Noble Memorial.

Sabol fired a 72 in the final round to finish the tournament with a one-over 14,5 leaving UNG in the tournament and claiming All-Tournament honors. Senior Anna Greer, finished in a tie for 13th at 149 after improving one stroke from Monday to Tuesday.

The Nighthawks shot 609 in the 36-hole event, claiming the fifth-best 36-hole score in program history. Anderson won the tournament by shooting new 18- and 36-hole tournament records, firing a one-under 287 in the final round to finish with an eight-over 584. 

The LeeAnn Noble Memorial marked the end to the fall season for UNG. The Nighthawks will next compete in the World Golf Invitational, hosted by Flagler, February 3-4.
