MORROW, Ga. – A five-goal performance powered the University of North Georgia men’s soccer team to clinch the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Peach Belt Conference Tournament after a 5-2 win over Clayton State Wednesday night at CSU’s Laker Field. The Nighthawks are now 8-6 overall.

Gabriel Garcia scored the lone first half goal in the 30th minute of play, and Evan Davis doubled the Nighthawk lead in the 52nd minute. Seconds later, Ivan Acimovic netted a goal to put UNG up, 3-0.

Alex Grant was able to stretch the lead to four goals with a goal from distance in the 69th minute, but the Lakers responded with a goal moments later to give UNG a 4-1 lead. The lead was cut to 4-2 in the 85th minute, but Eren Ozer brought the match to its final score with a breakaway goal in the 86th minute.
