James “Jimmy” “Pops” Allison, age 62, of Murrayville, GA (Lumpkin County) passed away Monday April 18, 2016.
Jimmy was born July 6, 1953 in Lumpkin County. He had lived in Lumpkin County most of his life. He was a diesel mechanic and was of the Baptist faith.
Jimmy was the son of the late J.F. Allison and Betty Williams and was also preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Allison; and grandparents, Frank and Ione Allison.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Allison, Murrayville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Judy Allison, Maynardville, TN; step-children, Natasha Wright, Derrick Johnson, Kimberly Johnson, Preston Johnson, and Bryant Johnson, all of Dahlonega, GA; brother, Joseph Allison, Dahlonega, GA; sister Joan Westbrooks, Gainesville, GA; grandchildren Dustin Allison and Brandon Hartley. 10 step-grandchildren and a large number of other relatives also survive.
A memorial service for Jimmy is scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.
The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home one hour before the service and immediately following the service.
