Mr. Gregory Kent Pierce: Obituary

Mr. Gregory Kent Pierce, age 56 of Dahlonega, passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 5, 2016 following an extended illness.

A native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County, Greg was born on January 20, 1960 to parents Robert and Myrtice Smallwood Pierce. He was a member of Cavender Creek Baptist Church and a former employee of the United States Postal Service in Cleveland, Georgia.

In addition to his parents, Greg was recently preceded in death by his brother, Mike Pierce. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jane Phillips Pierce, children; Holly (Cody Witcher) Pierce and Katie (Cody Chambers) Pierce, sister-in law; Vera Davis Pierce, nephews; Ryan (Marissa) Pierce, Brent (Stacia) Pierce, Adam (Angel) Pierce, great nieces and nephews; Kate Fitts, Clayton Pierce, Lexi Pierce, Summer Pierce and Henry Pierce, all of Dahlonega. A number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in the chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home with Rev. Lyman Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted however those wishing to make memorial contributions instead may do so to a charity of choice.
