Mr. James Peyton Hansard: Obituary

James Peyton Hansard (Jim), 81, of Dahlonega Georgia passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016.

Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, the son of Pat and Ethel Hansard, he lived most of his life in the state of Georgia. Jim served in the U.S Navy and was Executive Vice President in the corporate world for many years. He was an avid golfer, a life-long member of the Methodist Church and a man who cherished his family.

Jim leaves his wife of 56 years, Nancy; his son, Keith with daughter-in-law Angie and grandsons, Chad and Kyle; his son, Darrell with daughter-in-law Cherie and grandsons, Matthew, Wesley and Austin; his daughter, Kim with son-in-law Barry Shumate and granddaughter, Morgan and grandson, Nicholas; and his sister, Patricia Akin.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 29 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dahlonega Funeral Home. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held Thursday, June 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Dahlonega United Methodist Church, with private burial.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dahlonega United Methodist Church in Dahlonega, GA.
