One Killed, 4 Injured in White County Wreck

CLEVELAND, Ga. — A one-year-old child was killed and four other people injured in a midday crash on the Appalachian Parkway in Cleveland Monday.
Aubrey Papa, of Dahlonega, died of injuries suffered in the collision and 4-year-old Annalise Papa, also of Dahlonega, was air lifted to an Atlanta hospital.

The accident occurred when a 2005 Dodge Caravan driven by Lorri Vining, 55, of Dahlonega was northbound on Ga. 11 and attempted to turn onto Parkway Plaza but failed to yield to a 2008 Jeep Wrangler that was southbound on Ga. 11 Bypass.

Dawn Cain, 51, of Covington, was unable to avoid a collision and struck the Dodge Caravan in the right side with front end of the Jeep Wrangler.
Cain and Vining were also injured along with Justin Papa, 26, of Dahlonega.
The southbound lanes of Appalachian Parkway reopened at 1:30 p.m.
