Mr. Charles Leon Hansard II : Obituary

Charles Leon Hansard II, age 57 of Dahlonega, passed away on September 7, 2016. Charles loved UGA football, Nascar, and wrestling. He was a 1977 graduate of Duluth High School and member of Brookwood Baptist Church in Cumming, GA. He joined the Navy in August 1977 and served on the USS Forrestal and USS Independence. Charles worked at Peachtree Doors and Windows from 1987-2006 until he became disabled.

Charles is preceded by his father Charles Leon Hansard and grandparents Ode & Katherine Hansard and Dossie & Irene Buice.

Charles is survived by his mother Evelyn Buice Hansard; sister and brother in law La Dawn & Jeff Wood; nephews Jacob Cole Wood, Joshua Cain Wood, and Jared Cale Wood; niece Ragan Grisham; extended family Jimmy, Phyllis, and Blaise Woods.

Funeral services will be Saturday September 10, 2016 at 3pm in the Chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 10am Saturday until the time of service. Rev. TR Myers will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to offset end of life expenses.

An extra special thank you to Jessica, Kendra and Nicki at Clay County Care Center in Hayesville, NCfor their care. They have been absolutely wonderful during his time as a resident.
