Beatrice Dowdy Loggins, age 94, a life-long resident of Dahlonega, GA passed away on September 19, 2016.
Beatrice was the oldest member of Oak Grove Baptist Church for 81 years; joining when she was 13 years old.
She was the daughter of the late William Riley and Cora Smith Dowdy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Loggins; brothers, RL Dowdy, Rev. Jewell Dowdy, Edward Dowdy, Billy Dowdy and Birdie Robinson.
Beatrice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Dennis Calhoun, Dahlonega, GA; sister, Lois Ray, Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren, Frank and Kelli Boston, and Steven and Emily Boston, all of Dahlonega, GA; great-grandsons, Harper, Sawyer and Kaleb Boston; and great-granddaughter, Rowan Boston. Numerous other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Beatrice are scheduled for 1 PM Thursday September 22, 2016 at Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Rev. Allen Swafford, Rev. Russell Burt, and Rev. Shane Wehunt will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery
The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Wednesday September 21, 2016 from 5 PM to 9 PM and again on Thursday from 10 AM until service time.
