Women’s Golf Finishes Tied for 11th at the Battle at Old South

BLUFFTON, S.C. | The University of North Georgia women’s golf team held steady Sunday afternoon finishing tied for 11th at the 2016 Battle at Old South hosted by the University of North Carolina at Pembroke at the Old South Golf Links. UNG posted a 309-319-628 in the 36-hole tournament, equaling the same mark of Limestone College.

Jordyn Sims repeated her first round 76 to lead the team at 152 on the tournament, good enough for 16th individually. Karson Stone and Anna Greer finished tied for 52nd individually at 157 after the final round of play.

St. Leo finished atop the team standings with a 292-300-592, while West Georgia’s Franziska Bremm won a two-hole sudden death playoff to take home the inidividual medalist honors at 72-69-141, three shots under par.

The Nighthawks will next hit the links at the Country Club of Salisbury at the Catawba Patsy Rendelman Invitational in North Carolina on Oct. 10-11.
