Mrs. Karen “Kay” Harkins: Obituary

Karen “Kay” Harkins, age 50, of Gainesville, GA passed away suddenly Friday October 28, 2016.

Kay was born on May 15, 1966 to Barney Claudis and Velva Sisk Bruce. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Kay loved spending time with her friends, family and especially the grandkids.

Kay is preceded in death by her father, Barney Claudis Bruce.

Kay is survived by her husband, Tony Harkins, Gainesville, GA; son, Jon Bruce, Dahlonega, GA; stepson and daughter-in-law, William and Melissa Harkins, Dahlonega, GA; daughters, Jessica Harkins, Gainesville, GA and Kaylin Harkins, Gainesville, GA; mother, Velva Sisk Bruce, Dahlonega, GA; brothers, Nicky Bruce, Dahlonega, GA and Scott Bruce, Norcross, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and Tammy Bruce, Dahlonega, GA; sister, Sharon Bruce, Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren, Rylee and Ayden; special niece, Emilie Bruce; mother-in-law, Marie Harkins, Dahlonega, GA; sister-in-law, Rita Harkins, Dahlonega, GA; special friends, Kelly Wright, Rolando Guzman, Mark McDonald, Amber and Zack Bailey, Liam Hodges, Steve Martin, and Nikki Ward. Numerous other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Kay are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday November 2, 2016 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Jack Pilcher, Rev. Ronnie Dockery and Rev. Timothy Sullens will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Tuesday November 1, 2016 from 11 AM until 8 PM and again on Wednesday November 2, 2016 from 10 AM until time of service.
