DAHLONEGA, Ga. — A felony suspect was bold enough to return to the scene of the crime Wednesday and it cost him. Big time!
Deputies from the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office were investigating reports of a hit-and-run and two stolen vehicles in the area of Deerfield Drive and Hwy. 9 Wednesday when they noticed one of the stolen vehicles driving past the scene.
One of the officers attempted to make a traffic stop but the driver refused to stop and a chase began that ended in the area of R-Ranch in north Lumpkin County where they arrested 23-year-old Sterling Tolman of Toccoa. Tolman is currently being held in the Lumpkin County Detention Center pending numerous felony and misdemeanor charges.
The hit and run charges involved striking two vehicles. No one was injured in the incident.
