Mr. Harold Dean Gooch: Obituary

Harold Dean Gooch age 72 of Dahlonega passed away on December 26, 2016 following an extended illness. He was surrounded by his loving family.  Mr. Gooch was a member of Yahoola Baptist Church and a member of the B.A.S.S. club.  “Papa Dean” never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him.  He was passionate about woodworking and loved making custom pieces to give away for people to enjoy.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.  His smile always lit up a room.

Mr. Gooch is preceded in death by his parents Thomas Patton Gooch and Winnie Evelyn Caldwell Gooch, and his brothers Robert Gooch and Lloyd Poole Gooch.

Mr. Gooch is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce; his children Donna (Ricky) Edmondson, Evelyn (Randy) Powell, and Larry Gooch. Sister, Dorothy (William) Woodward and sister in law Sylvia Fitts Gooch; grandchildren, Ric (Jessie) Edmondson, Jessica (David) Burton, Ty Gooch, Kenzi Gooch Petty, and Madison Powell; great grandchildren Dockery Edmondson, Taylor Burton, Tatum Burton, and Townes Edmondson.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday December 31, 2016 at 2pm at Dahlonega Funeral Home. Pastors Lyman Caldwell, Allen Taylor, and Guy Lee will officiate. Family will receive friends on Friday December 30th from 12pm until 8pm and again on Saturday from 10am until service time. Interment will follow at Yahoola Baptist Church Cemetery.
