Sue Woody, age 66, of Dahlonega, GA, passed away suddenly on Saturday December 31, 2016.
Sue was a native and lifelong resident of Dahlonega, GA. She worked as a cook for Forrest Hills Resort for many years. Sue was of the Baptist faith and a member of Bethel Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Sue was the daughter of the late Albert Carney and Geraldine Tuggle Dorminey. She is also preceded in death by her step-father, Ronald Dorminey; brothers, Ricky Carney and Stanley Carney; and nephew, Miles Carney.
Sue is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Edward Woody; daughters and sons-in-law, Shannon and Rusty Grizzle, Stephanie and Cale Phillips; step-son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Cindy Woody; Jody Woody (nephew); brother-in-law, Ricky Woody, sisters-in-law, Denise Carney, Lynette Stowers; grandchildren, Kayla and Curtis Davis, Karlie Grizzle, Nate Grizzle, Amber Phillips, Caden Woody; and great-grandchild, Emorie Davis. Numerous other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Sue are scheduled for 3 PM Tuesday January 3, 2017 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.
Rev. Rex Fuller will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Monday January 2, 2017 from 2 PM until 9 PM and again on Tuesday January 3, 2017 from 10 AM until time of service.
