Lois Evelyn Ray, age 81, of Dahlonega, GA passed away on Tuesday January 10, 2017.
Lois was a native and lifelong resident of Dahlonega, GA. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Lois will always be remembered as loving mother to her sons and memaw to her granddaughters.
She was the daughter of the late William Riley and Cora Elizabeth Smith Dowdy. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ed Ray; brothers, Jewell Dowdy, R.L. Dowdy, Billy Dowdy, Clarence Edward Dowdy; sisters, Bertie Berry, Beatrice Loggins; and son, Michael Ray.
Lois is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Genna Ray, Ranger, GA, Tony and Tammy Ray, Dahlonega, GA; and granddaughters, Lillian Marie Ray and Brianna Nicole Ray. Numerous other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Lois are scheduled for 1 PM Friday January 13, 2017 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.
Rev. Robert Martin will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Thursday January 12, 2017 from 4 PM until 8 PM and again on Friday January 13, 2017 from 10 AM until time of service.
