Mr. James Lamar Head: Obituary

James Lamar Head, age 79, of Dahlonega, GA, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017.   Lamar was born on November 3, 1937 in Dahlonega, GA to the late Elmer and Lucy Gilstrap Head.   He was a retired truck driver and was a member of Yahoola Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.   He is preceded in death by his wife, Gaynell Head.

Lamar is survived by his daughters, Michelle Head and Beverly Lynn Head Gaughen, both of Dahlonega, GA; step-children, Myrtle and Gregory Mendoza, Leonard Hatcher, Randy Hatcher, Johnny Hatcher; brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin and Stella Head, Dahlonega, GA, Dude and Pat Head, Gainesville, GA, Don and Chris Head, Dahlonega, GA; one granddaughter, Breaunna Tate.  Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Lamar are scheduled for 3 PM Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Josh Chatham will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Yahoola Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 11 A.M. until time of service.
