Doyle Luther Butler age 74 of Dahlonega passed away following a sudden illness on May 16, 2017. He was native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He worked for many years with Standard Telephone Company and retired from Windstream Communications in 2007. He was also a poultry and cattle farmer. Mr. Butler was multi-talented instrumentalist and a Bluegrass enthusiast and played guitar, mandolin, fiddle, and harmonica. He was also a United States Army Veteran.
In addition to his parents Edward Butler and Hazel Walden Butler, he is preceded by his brother John F. Butler.
Mr. Butler is survived by his wife Linda Garrett Butler, his daughter and son in law Amy & Casey Hubbard of Dahlonega, GA; son and daughter in law Kris and Deana Butler of Dahlonega; grandchildren, Chelsey Hubbard, Abby Butler, and Gus Hubbard all of Dahlonega. Other relatives also survive.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday May 18, 2017 at 2pm in the chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home, Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate. Family will receive friends on Wednesday May 17, 2017 from 2pm -4pm; 6pm-9pm and again Thursday from 11am -1pm. Interment will follow at Dahlonega Memorial Park Cemetery.
