Mr. Joshua Nicolas Kistler and Master Jaxon Kistler : Obituary

Mr. Joshua Nicolas Kistler, age 38, of Dahlonega passed away suddenly on June 20, 2017 while attempting to save the life of his six year old son, Jaxon Kistler.

Josh was born in Canton, Georgia on February 27, 1979 and grew up in Florida. He and his family loved the beach and dreamed of moving there. They also loved Disney World and had just recently taken their son, Jaxon, there for his first visit. Josh and his family had also recently returned from an Alaskan cruise where they saw once in a lifetime scenes. He was a loving husband and dad and loved all sports, especially golf and baseball.

Josh was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elise Kistler and Gordon Cahoon and uncle, Ray Ogeron. He is survived by his wife; Gretchen Kistler, his mother; Pam Cahoon, his father; James “Jimmy” Kistler, his brother; Joey Kistler, his aunt; June Ogeron, cousins; Natalie Ogeron and Jennifer Legette, his uncle; Gordon “Cal” Cahoon and his grandmother; Marilyn Cahoon.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2017 in the chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home with Rev. Lyman Caldwell, Rev. Les Fuller and Rev. Roger Dunagan officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, the day of the service, from 10:00 a.m. until the service time.
