Mr. Lewis Danny Poore: Obituary

Mr. Lewis Danny Poore, age 67, of Dahlonega, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 22, 2017.

Born on December 31, 1949 to parents, Craig and Margaret Abernathy Poore, Danny was a native and lifelong resident of Dahlonega and was proud to be a “Nugget”. He was a co-owner and operator of Poore Boy’s Wholesale Tire and Poore’s Wrecker Service in Dahlonega. Danny was a member of the Towing and Recovery Association of Georgia as well as Blue Mountain Masonic Lodge #38, F&AM. He was also a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Jennybeth Poore, children; Craig Poore, Matthew Poore, Katie Braselton and Mavis Poore, brother; Ricky (Donna) Poore, sisters; Nancy (Butch) Moore and Vickie (Alan) Trammell, grandchildren; Sydnee Poore, Clay Poore, Kymberlee Braselton, Jessalynn Braselton, Madalynne Braselton and Gabrielle Braselton.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church with Father John Hamilton officiating. The family will receive friends and host a reception the day of the service from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour at the church. Burial will follow at Dahlonega Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to Mavis Poore’s College Fund at United Community Bank.
