Mr. Benjamin Fred “Benny” Freeland: Obituary

Mr. Benjamin Fred “Benny” Freeland, age 72, of Dahlonega passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Pruitt Health and Rehab in Buford.

Born in Hoschton, Georgia on February 15, 1945 to parents Hugh Dorsey and Alla Lee Higgins Freeland, Benny had lived in Lumpkin County most of his life. He was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from Cargill Corporation and enjoyed hunting and fishing as his hobbies.

In addition to his parents, Benny was preceded in death by his brother; John Edward Freeland, and sisters; Mary Lee Sanders and Miriam Adams. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law; Clint and Lyndsey Freeland, of Dahlonega, sister; Elizabeth Forrester of Gainesville. Grandchildren; Jack, Rhett and Evy Freeland of Dahlonega.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Siloam Baptist Church with Rev. Lyman Caldwell, Rev. Jason Sullens and Mr. Doug Cochran officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 14th from 3:00 until 5:00 and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
