Hubert Dexter Parks: Obituary

Mr. Hubert Dexter Parks, age 74, of Dahlonega, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Gainesville Campus of the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health. Born in Lumpkin County on June 13, 1944 to parents Hubert Harvey “H.C” and Maudean Edmondson Parks, Hubert was a lifelong resident. He was a retired painter and had, over the years along with his father, painted many of the storefronts on the Dahlonega public square. He was a member of the former Dahlonega Church of God. In addition to his parents, Hubert was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Isabella Michelle Parks. He is survived by his daughters; Heather Leann Parks and Makayla Faith Parks, and his former wife and friend, Cheryl Ann Parks, all of Dahlonega. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 in the chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home with Stan Bafile officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Dahlonega Funeral Home on Saturday, October 6 from 2:00 p.m. until the service time.
