Tshimanga’s 19 points lifts UNG to 75-68 win over Emanuel

DAHLONEGA, Ga. Ephraim Tshimanga tallied a game-high 19 points as the University of North Georgia men’s basketball team opened up the home slate with a 75-68 win over Emmanuel Wednesday night in the UNG Convocation Center.

The Lions were on the front foot early on, jumping out to a 24-13 lead midway through the first half. North Georgia stormed back though, going on a 14-4 run over the final 6:23 of the first half to tie the game up at 31 headed to the locker room.

After a back-and-forth first five minutes of the second half, UNG went on a 7-0 run to take the lead they held for the remainder of the game to improve to 3-0 on the year.

NOTES
Tshimanga finished 8-for-10 from the floor in the game, adding three assists, three steals and four boards to his stat line.

Also finishing in double figures for North Georgia were Zez Steeple with 14 points and the duo of Zach Brown and Zach Cottrell, each finishing with 11.

Emmanuel turned the ball over 16 times, turning into 18 Nighthawk points.
