Lady Indians tie with Lakeview Academy 4-4

The Lumpkin Co. Lady Indians (2-1-1) tied the Lakeview Academy Lady Lions (0-1-1) 4-4 on Monday night at Lumpkin Co. High School. The Lady Indians scored with two minutes left in the game to tie the game at four.

Lakeview struck first with a goal early in the first half. The Lady Indians responded with two goals in the first half. The first goal came from #21 Nicole Limehouse with 15 minutes left in the first half, and the second came from #7 Hope Kenney with only three minutes remaining in the first half. Lumpkin Co. led 2-1 at halftime.

The Lady Lions scored early again in the second half. Their first goal came just 10 minutes into the half. Lumpkin Co. was able to counter with another goal from Limehouse with 14 minutes remaining in the game. Lakeview responded with a goal of their own less than a minute later to tie the game at three goals apiece. The Lady Lions followed that goal with another goal with 5 minutes remaining to take a 4-3 lead. The Lady Indians weren’t ready to throw in the towel. Lumpkin Co.’s #22 Ashley Read scored on a free kick that bounced over the head of the goalie for Lakeview to tie the game. The game finished tied at four.
