Elva Louise Burt: Obituary

Elva Louise Burt, age 85, passed away on February 24, 2020 in Dahlonega, Georgia surrounded by family after an extended illness.

She was born on June 1, 1934 in Hazel, Kentucky to the late Vondrell and Minnie Sledd. She loved the Georgia Bulldogs, traveling, flowers and her family and friends. Mrs. Burt was Mrs. Mary Kay for many years. She also worked in gifts and decorative accessories sales and was a nurse at Babyland General, where she delivered the Cabbage Patch Babies. She was of Baptist faith.

Mrs. Burt was preceded in death by her parents, Vondrell and Minnie Sledd; Sister, June Hertell; Grandsons, Clay Free and Max Vincent; Grandson-in-law, Robert Dean.

Surviving are her loving husband of 32 years, Jerry Burt, Dahlonega; Children, Denyse Vincent Hollingsworth (Dan), Signal Mountain, Tennessee and Chuck Vincent, San Gregorio, California. Grandchildren, Katie Dean, Gainesville and Henry Vincent, Ashland, Oregon. Great Grandson, Cooper Dean; Brothers, Seldon Sledd (Barbara) and Kenneth Sledd (Susan); Her beloved nephews and niece and a number of other relatives.

Interment will be Friday, February 28 at 9:30 am at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. The Family will receive friends on Friday February 28 at 2pm at Dahlonega Funeral Home in Dahlonega, Ga. A celebration of Life will immediately follow at 3 pm.
