Lumpkin Throttles Franklin County To Move To 2-0

The Indians offense dominated once again as Lumpkin County takes down the Franklin County Lions 46-7. RB Mason Sullens turned in another incredible performance leading the offensive attack while Will Wood and Gerald Walker Jr. formed a dominant tandem for the Indians defense. The Lions recorded a touchdown in the first quarter but failed to put more points on the board. Lumpkin County now moves to 2-0 on the year and has averaged 45 PPG.
Team Notes
Sullens led the way once again on Friday night as the star back finished with 130 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries, averaging 10.8 YPC. QB Cal Faulkner finished 12/16 for 170 yards and two touchdowns in the air while adding another 27 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Jr. Jackson Bell also recorded a touchdown for the Indians run game. Sr. WR Luke Evans hauled in 120 yards and a touchdown on six receptions. So. Colton Lee would be on the receiving end of Faulkner’s other passing touchdown. On defense, Walker Jr. and Wood would both finish with seven tackles, while Walker Jr. also got in the backfield for two TFL.
As for Franklin County, it was an all-around disappointing showing. They allowed over 40 points for the second time in three games. The Lions now sit at 1-2 with a -56-point differential on the year.
Looking Ahead
The Lions will head to Homer as they look to turn in a better effort as they take on the 2-0 Banks County Leopards. Lumpkin County will travel to Temple, GA as they square up against the 3-0 Temple Tigers.
