Mr. Kenneth Doyle Harkins, age 63, of Dahlonega passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 at his residence.
Born in White County on August 28, 1952 to parents George Byers and Mary Lee Miller Harkins, Kenneth had lived most his life in Lumpkin County. He was retired from B & M Metals where he was employed for over twenty years. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by brothers; J.W. Harkins, Mac Arthur Harkins, Buck Harkins, Donald Harkins and Freddy Harkins and sister, Patricia Abercrombie. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law; Kenneth and Michelle Harkins, Dahlonega, son; Cory Harkins of Suches, siblings; Mickey (Sheila) Harkins, Dahlonega, Sue Goff, Jackson, Ga, Sabra (Terry) McIntyre, Cleveland, Margie (Roger) Flanagan, Dahlonega and Sheila Clore, Mineral Bluff, Ga. Kenneth is also survived by his grandchildren; Emma Grace Harkins, Dillon James Harkins, Haven Lee Harkins and Avery Aleece Greene.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016 in the chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home with Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Rev. Roger Dunagan officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from five until nine p.m. at the funeral home.
