PEMBROKE, N.C. – Despite three great individual performances that included two double-doubles, the 17th-ranked University of North Georgia women’s basketball team wasn’t able to come up with a win at Lumbee Bank Court Monday afternoon falling to UNC Pembroke, 79-66. The Nighthawks slip to 13-3 on the year and are now 5-2 in the Peach Belt Conference.
After a close first quarter of play the Braves lit up the scoreboard in the second period posting an eye-popping 28 points and taking a 40-32 lead into halftime. Things wouldn’t get much better in the second half for UNG as some turnovers proved costly with UNCP outscoring the Nighthawks in points off turnovers 24-11.
