DAHLONEGA, Ga. — Lumpkin County EMS Director David Wimpy reported this morning that Danny’s Automotive, 2227 Oak Grove Road in Dahlonega, was completely destroyed by fire Wednesday evening.
Wimpy said the call came in at about 9 p.m. and all units of the Lumpkin County Fire Department responded along with one tanker from Dawson County. “It was fully involved when the first units arrived,” he said.
It took nearly two hours got get the fire extinguished and oil and gas in the building made the job more difficult.
“The building was a total loss, but fortunately, there were no injuries,” Wimpy said.
The insurance company is on the scene this morning. Wimpy said the cause of the blaze is unknown at this time but that so far nothing looks suspicious.
