Mr. Horace Buren “H.B.” Burnette: Obituary

Horace Buren “H.B.” Burnette, age 87, of Dahlonega, GA passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.

H.B. had a love for hunting and fishing.  Treating his wife of 68 years like a queen, as a morning routine he would make and bring her coffee and play cards.

H.B. was the son of the late Devey and Velma Castleberry Burnette.  He is also preceded in death by many brothers and sisters; and grandsons, Kevin Burnette and Tony Woron.

H.B. is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Virginia Burnette; children, Wayne and Lisa Burnette, Dawsonville, GA, Shelia and Joe Heard, Dawsonville, GA, Doug and Jana Burnette, Dahlonega, GA, Nita and Tracy Thomas, Dahlonega, GA; sister, Edith Rogers Chester, Cleveland, GA; grandchildren, Eric and Jody Burnette, Kim and Dennis Roland, Karrie and Stan King, Bradley and Trish Heard, Kacie and Shawn Boyd, Jessica Burnette, Courtney Adams, Savannah Burnette, Carla Woron, Bobby Woron, Nicholas Thomas, Meghan Self; great-grandchildren, Cody Burnette, Levi Burnette, Trey Burnette, Ella Grace Roland, Presley Sikes, Virgil Woron, Avery Woron, Alyssa Woron, Griffin King, Grayson King, Ellis Heard, Copeland Boyd, Sadler Boyd, Ansley Burnette, Mason Burnette, Addison Anderson, Misty Adams, and Trent Adams.  Numerous other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for H.B. are scheduled for 2 PM Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Rodney Pilcher, Rev. Scott Christopher and Rev. Wayne Burnette will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 6 PM to 9 PM, Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 2 PM to 9 PM, and again on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 10 AM until service time.
