Planning Commission Approves Three Variances

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Lumpkin County Planning Commission approved three variance requests Monday and will recommend their approval to the Board of Commissioners at the next commission meeting.

The commission unanimously approved Elizabeth Owen Martin’s request to the Class 1 Subdivision requirements of Section 26-60 in order to subdivide two lots that are both accessed from a private road located on Woody Tucker Road.

John Fleming requested a side-setback variance  to the Land Use regulation requirements of Section 26-253 from 20 feet to 15 feet to construct a single-family residence on Nimblewill Overlook.

The commissioners also unanimously approved a variance to the multi-family requirements of Section 26-603 to renovate an existing structure in order to establish and operate a three-unit multifamily development located at 2331 Hwy. 52 West.

By approving these variances, commissioners agree to make a recommendation of approval to the Board of Commissioners who have the final say.
