Mr. John Thomas Patterson: Obituary

Mr. John Thomas Patterson, age 69, of Auburn, GA passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the Oaks at Limestone in Gainesville, Georgia.

Born May 31, 1947 in Augusta, Georgia to parents John Wesley and Elizabeth Dennis Patterson, he had lived the past 20 years in Auburn. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp having done his tour of duty in Vietnam. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Gold Miners Club of Dahlonega.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Kenneth Blake Hunter. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Kelly Patterson, Auburn, children; Don (Eva) Patterson, Whitwell, TN, Angela (James) Beattie, McDonough, GA, Cris Kelly, Auburn, GA, Lisa Kelly, Decatur, GA, Holly (Mark) Thomason, Panama City Beach, FL, sisters; Edith Heath, Jackson, GA, Wreglia (Randy) Obarr, Eastman, GA, grandchildren; Anslee Hunter, Brody Hunter, Mackenzie Patterson, Tristin Patterson, Katherine Patterson, Jacob Beattie and Hollyn Beattie.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 in the Dahlonega Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Les Fuller and Rev. Stephen Adams officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the White County Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the New Liberty United Methodist Cemetery in Braselton. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 20th from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
