Sandra Elaine Dixon Day: Obituary

Sandra Elaine Dixon Day, age 63, of Dahlonega, GA passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017 following a sudden illness.

She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.  Elaine was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and niece.  Everyone that met her instantly fell in love with her.  She will be dearly missed.

Elaine is preceded in death by her husband, Park Day; father, James Dixon; brother, Bobby Dixon; grandparents, Zeb and Carrie Dixon, and Link and Martha Garrett.

Elaine is survived by her mother and step-father, Bertha and Joe Powers, Dahlonega, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Zack Wilson, Eatonton, GA; brothers, Jerry Dixon, Dahlonega, GA, Michael Dixon, Cumming, GA; special friend, Linda Roak; nephews, Mikey and Kari Dixon, Dahlonega, GA, Jordan Wilson, Cumming, GA; great-nephews, Raylan Dixon, Patrick and Savannah Harkins; special aunts and uncle, Jimmy Garrett, Gainesville, GA, Bessie Brown, Shirley Carey, Evelyn Shook, and Vivian Conley all of Blairsville, GA. A host of cousins and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Chip Penland and Michael Dixon will officiate.

Interment will follow in the New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Blairsville, GA.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 6 PM until 9 PM, and again on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 10 AM until time of service.
