Roy Bud “RB” Dover, age 72, of Dahlonega, GA, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017, at his home.

RB was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He was a retired truck driver and mechanic and was of the Baptist faith.

RB was  the son of the late Andrew Bud Dover and Annie Mae Woody Dover and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Hammonds; brothers, William Dover, Richard  Dover; infant brothers, Frank and Myron Dover; sisters, Dorothy Martin, Lula Belle Smith, and Anna Rider; grandchildren, Joseph Hammonds and Christopher Dover.

RB is survived by his wife, Nancy Dover, Dahlonega, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Wendi Dover, Dahlonega, GA, Kevin and Jolie Davis, Iowa, Freddy Dover, Dahlonega, GA, and Mitchell Dover, Dahlonega, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and James Reicher, Dahlonega, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Carolyn Dover, Gainesville, GA; sisters, Cindy Stier, Dawsonville, GA, and Margie Abernathy, Gainesville, GA; sister-in-law, Susie Dover, Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren, Alicia Hammonds, Kala Hammonds, Zachary Dover, Emily Davis, Gracie Davis, Alexis Dover ,Cassandra Cotterman, Madison Reicher, Nancy Reicher, Jake Reicher, and Cody Dover.

Numerous other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for RB are scheduled for 1 PM Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Louie Gilleland, Rev. Virgil Stanfield, and Rev. Jeff Partington will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Monday May 1, 2017 from 4 PM until 9 PM, all day on Tuesday, and again on Wednesday from 10 AM until service time.
