Mrs. Virginia Pauline Brown: Obituary

Virginia Pauline Brown, age 71, a lifelong resident of Dahlonega, GA passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017.

Pauline was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She was a faithful Christian and had a great love of the outdoors.  She enjoyed doing any type of activity that involved being with her family and friends.  Pauline worked at North Georgia College and University and retired after 17 ½ years.

Pauline was the daughter of the late James Elmer and Mary Lena Grizzle Fortner.  She is also preceded in death by her brother, Leroy Fortner.

Pauline is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Jimmy Brown; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Jenny Brown, Dahlonega, GA; brother, Dennis Fortner, Dahlonega, GA, sister, Betty Jackson, Dahlonega; GA, brother-in-law, John Brown, Dahlonega, GA; sisters-in-law, Geneva Hyde, Gainesville, GA, Bertha Virden, TX; granddaughters, Kristian Holley Brown and Amanda Payge Brown.  Numerous other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Pauline are scheduled for 4 PM on Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Roger Stover, Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Rev. Dennis Fortner will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 5 PM to 8 PM and again on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 2 PM until time of service.
