Betty J. Major Raines, age 69, of Murrayville, GA (Lumpkin County), passed away Sunday May 28, 2017 at Northeast GA Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.
Betty was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. She was a homemaker and was a member of The Fountain Church of God of Prophecy in Dahlonega. Betty loved her family and she dearly loved cats and puzzles.
Betty was the daughter of the late Z.V. Major and Bertie Watson Major and she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jim Raines; and an infant son, Vance Edward Raines.
Betty is survived by her son, Raymond Raines, Murrayville, GA; sister, Pam Major, Murrayville, GA; and brother, Johnny Major, Dahlonega, GA. A number of other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Betty are scheduled for 2 PM Tuesday May 30, 2017 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.
Lynn Cantrell and Chris Bryan will officiate.
Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery in Dahlonega, GA.
The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Monday May 29, 2017 from 5 PM until 9 PM and again on Tuesday from 10 AM until 2 PM.
