Jarrard Leads Men’s Golf to Second Place After 36 Holes at UNG Fall Invitational

DAHLONEGA – Joseph Jarrard shot a five-under-par 139 to lead the University of North Georgia men’s golf team to second place after 36 holes at the 4th Annual UNG Fall Invitational Monday at Achasta Golf Club. Lander leads the tournament by four strokes over UNG.

The Nighthawks shot an even-par 576, including a second-round score of 287, one-under-par. Lee is one shot back of UNG in third, followed by Newberry and Young Harris.

Jarrard sits in a tie for second, one stroke behind Lee’s Scott Odell. The senior from Dahlonega’s second-round 68 is the sixth time the score has been shot in UNG history. His 36-hole score is also tied for the second-lowest in program history.

Tanner Merck is in a tie for 10th after shooting one-under-par through the first two rounds. Matt Elliot shot rounds of 72 and 73 to sit in a tie for 16th overall.

The final round of the invitational is set for a 9 a.m. shotgun start in Dahlonega with the awards ceremony to follow at the conclusion of the round.
