Family, friend snagged in Lumpkin County drug bust

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Four members of a Lumpkin County family are having an unpleasant family reunion in the Lumpkin County Detention Center today.

Curtis Roland, his wife Michelle, their daughter Taylor, stepson Nathaniel Smith and Taylor Roland’s boyfriend were arrested by Lumpkin County authorities last week following a two-month long drug investigation that netted methamphetamine valued at $23,000, $29,360 in cash and $6,000 in marijuana as well as guns and prescription medication.

The investigation that began with a tip from a concerned citizen halted a mid-level trafficking organization.

Curtis Roland, 52, Michelle Roland, 45, and Nathaniel Smith, 26, are charged with trafficking methamphetamine. Taylor Roland, 23, and her boyfriend George Cartledge are charged with possession of a dangerous drug and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime.
