Lumpkin County deputy injured in Sunday crash


CLEVELAND, Ga. — A Lumpkin County deputy on his way home following his shift Sunday morning was injured in an auto accident on Hwy. 115 East just inside the White County line.

White County Sheriff Stacy Jarrard said Donald Lewis, who suffered a broken ankle and broken hand in the accident, was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for treatment.

Jarrard said Lewis was released from the hospital this afternoon.
