Indians Take Shutout Loss To Pickens

On Monday afternoon the Lady Indians hosted the Dragonettes of Pickens High School for a non region game.  After handing the Dragonettes a shut out loss on opening day of the 2018 season, Lumpkin was looking to take the second and final game of the year between these two teams.

In the field the defense for the Lady Indians was shaky at times as they committed 3 errors that aided in the onslaught of runs posted by Pickens in the game. Taking the circle for Lumpkin were Natalie Robinson and Evee Dornhecker.  These ladies combined in throwing 98 pitches total with Robinson taking the loss.  Robinson  went 2 and 2/3 innings allowing 10 runs on 8 hits, 1 strikeout, 2 walks and 1 home run.  Only 2 of her 10 runs allowed were earned. Dornhecker in relief threw 31 pitches in 1 and 1/3 innings. The Dragonettes scored 2 runs with 1 being earned. Pickens had 3 hits and 1 walk against the second Lady Indian to enter the circle.  The Dragonettes put 11 runs up in the third and 1 in the fourth for a 12-0 shutout victory.  Reaching base on the only hits in the game for Lumpkin were Natalie Robinson and Lita Sills.Brighton Harder, Izzy Kinard and Evee Dornhecker earned walks in the game.

Lumpkin will travel to G.A.C. on Tuesday for a big region game that is scheduled to start at 8:30 PM.
