Lady Indians Shut Down Spartans Of GAC

Just one day after being shutout at the hands of the Dragonettes of Pickens High School, The Lady Indians past that experience on to the Spartans of Greater Atlanta Christian.

The visiting Lady Indians took advantage of stepping to the plate first and put up a quick run and take a lead.  This 1-0 lead would be enough to take the victory but Lumpkin didn’t stop there.  The Lady Indians offense added 2 insurance runs in the third and 1 in the fifth to solidify the victory.  Having a good day at the plate is a way to put your team in the position to score runs and win the game.  In the game against the Spartans, Breighton Harder was 2 for 4 with 1 run scored, Izzy Kinard was 2 for 4 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored, Lita Sills and leading the way for Lumpkin was Lauren English.  English was 2-4 with a run scored and 3 huge RBI’s.

In the circle, Lauren English Got the win on 84 pitches gave up no runs on 5 hits to a team that has several excellent contact hitters and are good at finding the holes in the opponents defense. English sat down 8 GAC batters by strikeout.  Neither team committed an error in the game.

Lumpkin will host Cherokee Bluff out of Flowery Branch on Thursday starting at 5:30 PM
