The University of North Georgia women’s golf team placed ninth at the NCAA South Super Regional Preview in Cleveland, TN. The Preview was hosted by Lee University and was held at the Cleveland Country Club.
UNG junior, Jordyn Sims, ended the final round in an individual tie for 22nd. Sims’ overall three-round total was 236, earning her the fourth best 54-hole score in program history. UNG senior, Anna Greer, is now tied for fifth all-time in the same category.
The Nighthawks collectively shot a 957, which is the third best 54-hole team score in program history.They also defeated West Florida, UNC Pembroke, and Young Harris in the event, all of which were receiving votes in the first WGCA National Poll of the year.
Number 4 ranking college, Barry University, won the tournament by 13 strokes over the host Flames. Lynn University finished third, followed by Saint Leo University and Florida Technical College. Individually, Lee’s Haverly Harrold won the tournament by two strokes, shooting a two-over 218 in the 54-hole event.
