Dramatic river rescue in Lumpkin County results in arrest

LUMPKIN CO., GA –

 

McMeans was arrested after for DUI and child a dramatic river rescue on Friday, December 28

Dahlonega resident, Andrea McMeans, turned herself into Lumpkin County Sheriff Office for DUI and child endangerment charges, after causing a single-vehicle accident Friday morning.

The accident resulted in a dramatic river-rescue of her and her two-month-old son; following the rescue, Georgia State Patrol investigated the cause of the wreck, which resulted in a warrant for her arrest. According to the LCSO arrest report, McMeans has been charged with failure to maintain lane, DUI-endangering child under 14 YOA while DUI, and DUI/less safe. She was bonded out on Saturday, December 29.
