DAHLONEGA, Ga. — Members and associate members of the Development Authority of Lumpkin County will receive a special presentation by Iron Mountain Park owner Craig Stansberry when they meet at Iron Mountain Park, 329 Max Wehunt Road Tuesday at 9 a.m.
The Lumpkin County Board of Commissioners tabled a vote on Stansberry’s request for a special land use application for an ATV, motocross and amphitheater during last week’s meeting. The facility spans Lumpkin and Dawson counties and could eventually include 1,000 treehouse-style, short-term rental cabins,equestrian trails, a firearms training range and sporting clay shooting facility.
Priority discussions and action items include graphic representations of the proposed Gateway Corridor and a Development Authority website contract.
There will also be staff reports by Executive Director Rebecca Shirley and Administrative Assistant Dee Harris.
Commissioners and the Development Authority has engaged the services of Carl Vinson Institute of Government to provide an input questionnaire, conduct two stakeholder meetings, assist with legal and planning research, and draft proposed ordinance language for the Gateway Corridor, along Hwy. 400 from the county line north to the intersection of Hwy. 115.
