Ariemma elected to Dahlonega city council, Larson reelected


DAHLONEGA, Ga. – John Ariemma defeated John Anthony “Tony” Owens by a narrow of margin, 387-371 to win the Post 4 seat on the Dahlonega City Council Tuesday.

In the only other contested city council race, incumbent Ron Larson outpolled Dewey Moye 457 to 300 to retain his Post 6 seat on the council.

Incumbent Post 5 City Councilwoman JoAnne Taylor ran unopposed.

Dahlonega also voters approved the Sunday Brunch bill that allows for the rollback of Sunday on-premise alcohol consumption sales from 12:30p.m. to 11 a.m. by a vote of 584-200.
