DAHLONEGA, Ga. — Raymond G. McNally II, of Dahlonega, was arrested last week and charged with Battery-Family Violence after a verbal argument with his wife erupted into violence at their residence

According to the arrest report, McNally’s wife Debra said the argument started when she tried to get her husband to go to the hospital and he became verbally abusive. The argument escalated when she called 911. Debra McNally said he then pushed her across the living room and began punching her in the head repeatedly.

McNally’s father Raymond G. McNally Jr and two others in the home witnessed the incident.

When questioned, McNally first said he didn’t know what happened because he blacked out. But he later admitted punching his wife with a closed fist four or five times.

McNally was handcuffed and transported to the Lumpkin County Detention Center.
