Three more arrested for possession of meth
Business May 27, 2020LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. — The Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office continued their effort to get rid of illegal drugs in the county with the arrest of three individuals from Tennessee last week.
During a traffic stop at the intersection of South Chestatee Street and Long Branch Road on Thursday (May 21) and a search of a 2011 Nissan Murano, sheriff’s deputies recovered several containers of what was suspected to be crystal meth, loaded syringes and two digital scales.
According to the incident report, the driver of the vehicle, Brooks Lee, 41, admitted that methamphetamine had been in the syringes at one time.
Lee was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent, possession of drug-related objects and failure to maintain lane.
Passengers in the vehicle Tasha Chowning, 39, and Abagail Litwin , 37, were arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent and possession of drug-related objects.
All three were handcuffed and transported to the Lumpkin County Detention Center.
The Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office and agents with the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office are conducting an ongoing drug investigation that took more than 265 grams of meth and $260,000 off the streets in the last two months.
