LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. – Lumpkin County deputies arrested a 22-year-old Cumming woman last week for possession of heroin and possession and manufacture of a controlled substance.

Deputies were called to the Dollar General Store on Hwy. 52 East Friday (May 22) when it was reported that a woman was flailing around inside the store and appeared to be intoxicated.

According to the incident report, Rebecca Aurelia Resendiz was very upset, couldn’t stand still, constantly moving her arms and head in all directions and appeared to be high. Asked if she had used narcotics recently, she said no and also denied permission to search her car.

A drug-detection K-9, Diesel, alerted to drugs inside her vehicle and a more detailed search produced a quantity of heroin. She was then handcuffed and transported to Lumpkin County Detention Center.
