Davenport’s near triple-double leads Lady Indians to victory

The Lumpkin Co. Lady Indians defeated the Gilmer Lady Bobcats 67-46 on Friday night in Dahlonega. The Lady Indians played team basketball, recording 20 assists on the night.

Senior Isabel Davenport had half of those assists, as she fell a rebound shy of a triple-double.

Davenport scored 14 points to go along with her 10 assists and 9 rebounds. She also had 3 steals

The Lady Indians were led in scoring by senior Makenzie Caldwell, who had 21 points and 6 rebounds. Sophomore Mary Mullinax also had a double-double for Lumpkin Co. as she had 11 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman Averie Jones also had 13 points and 5 rebounds.

With the victory the Lady Indians move to 14-4 on the season and 6-1 in Region 7-3A.

Lumpkin Co. has a quick turnaround as they host Union Co. at 4 p.m. tomorrow.
