LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. — A Gainesville man with outstanding warrants in Hall and Habersham counties ran from Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office deputies when they attempted a traffic stop in the Hamp Mill Road area on June 15.
According to the incident report, Deputy George Albert Jr. witnessed 33-year-old Brandon Myers driving erratically and attempted to execute a stop but Myers sped away, turning on to Oak Grove Road and into the Oak Grove Mobile Home Park. When he reached a dead end, he got out and fled on foot into the nearby woods.
The deputy followed and eventually tackled the man who, according to the report admitted to having a meth pipe on him and digital scales inside the vehicle. One scale was located in the center console, the other in a backpack.
A background check revealed Myers had outstanding warrants in Hall and Habersham counties. He also faces Lumpkin County charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug related items, fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement officers, and obstruction of officers in addition to multiple traffic violations.
