Dahlonega man charged with battery, making terroristic threats

LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. – 31-year-old Ian Joseph Almeida was arrested on charges of simple battery and making terroristic threats against his sister Bayley Hermina Almeida at a residence on Joyce Lane on June 27.

Lumpkin County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the scene in reference to a physical domestic where they found Bayley Almeida and an unidentified female had barricaded themselves into a bedroom to escape Ian.

Bayley said her brother punched her in the back of the head and threatened to kill her before they managed escape into the bedroom. She told deputies Ian punched the door several times to try and gain entry. When he was unable to do so, he left the scene.
